Songoftheday - CIty nights, summer breeze makes you feel alright.......

Aldo Nova - "Fantasy"
from the album Aldo Nova (1982)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #23 (two weeks)
weeks in the top 40: 7

Today's Song of the Day is by Canadian singer/guitarist Aldo Nova, who is from Montreal, Quebec. Aldo (real last name Caporuscio) was a hit out of the gate, with a debut album that went top-10 in the US and eventually selling over two million copies. Its first single, "Fantasy" was accompanied by an elaborate video (for that time), but managed to be his only top-40 hit.

Boy, could he rock the leopard print. Nova would go on to write songs for Celine Dion and Clay Aiken, a far cry from this. In 2009 the song would be covered by neo-glam group Steel Panther and used for the theme for MTV's Rob Drydek's Fantasy Factory.

Up tomorrow: Niecy redoes Nyro redoing the Royalettes.
