This week there's a big turnaround, as a dozen new songs come onto my chart (new entries in yellow). The highest is by Canadian vocal artist Michael Buble, who broke bigtime with his top-40 pop/top-5 UK hit "Haven't Met You Yet". The #1 album that song came from Crazy Love, was re-released this week with eight more tracks, including this new song that serves as his new single, and it's much more rock-n-roll oriented. Here's "Hollywood"...

Linkin Park has made the top of the Alternative Rock chart nine times, including the single that just dropped out, "The Catalyst". The boys from Cali make up with their new track, "Waiting For The End"...

New York-based Sylvia Tosun has had multiple hits on the Dance Chart, including a number-1 collaboration with Italian DJs Noferini & Marini with "Push N' Pull". Her latest is all her own, and it's "Above All"...

Keith Urban has had ten number-one songs in the last ten years, which isn't bad at all. In fact, after his first single, "It's a Love Thing", every regular single he's put out has made the top-10, including two songs staying there for six weeks, "Somebody Like You" and "Better Life". His latest is from his forthcoming CD Get Closer which drops November 16, and it's headed top-10 as well. Here's "Put You In A Song"..

Metal powerhouse Godsmack has racked up six top rock hits from their five full-length albums. Two of those spent six weeks at #1, "Speak" and their last single "Cryin' Like A Bitch". The third single from The Oracle is current in the runner up spot, and it's about "Love-Hate-Sex-Pain"...

Country singer and Celebrity Apprentice alumnus Trace Adkins has a new retrospective out that includes almost all of his hits and all three of his #1 singles - "(This Ain't) No Thinking Thing", "Ladies Love Country Boys", and "You're Gonna Miss This". One song that isn't on that set is the first hit from his new record label, Show Dog, and "This Ain't No Love Song"...

Kanye West has been visible recently more in the things he does than his work, which includes two #1 pop hits with "Gold Digger" and "Stronger", and his latest comes with a half-hour music video... here's the long version of "Runaway" with Clipse member Pusha T...

DJ Mog is from Northern Ireland, and his first hit is a track sung by Sarah Lynn. Here's "Somewhere"..

British rap star Tinie Tempah's second number 1 UK pop hit is the second hit on my chart, following the massive "Pass Out". He's backed up by Eric Turner from the Swedish rock band Street Fighting Man on "Written In The Stars"...

British siren Natasha Bedingfield had a single #1 hit in her home country with "These Words", and and top-5 success in the US with "Unwritten" and "Pocketful Of Sunshine". Her latest single
is a lot more teasing, and it's "Strip Me"...

John Ondrasik has had a #1 hit twice under the moniker Five For Fighting - "Superman (It's Not Easy)" hit the top at Adult top-40 stations while "100 Years" scaled adult contemporary. His latest is a "Slice" of American life...

and finally Taylor Swift will most likely have the biggest sales week of the year on next weeks album charts, and the title track rounds out my top-100. Here's "Speak Now"..

Now let the painkillers come! Seriously, hoping for a steady rehab, Mrs T!

There are eight new songs on my list (marked in yellow), and the first is by an artist in my top-5 with "Dynamite", Taio Cruz. Taio has had a great last twelve months, including the song that hit number one in England as well as America, "Break Your Heart". This time he teams up with trash-disco siren Ke$ha for the third single from his US debut Rokstarr. Earlier this year this song made the top-10 in Britain, and now is hitting the dance clubs in the States. Here's "Dirty Picture"...

Next is the official Billboard #1 song in the US right now, and it's by Asian-American electro group Far East Movement. Members Kev Nish, Prohgress, J-Splif, and DJ Virmin come from Koreatown in Los Angeles, and their debut album sports some heavy-hitter guests as Snoop Dogg, Keri Hilson, and Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic (as well as an artist debuting this week, Mohombi). On this single they are backed by fellow Californians The Cataracs, and singer Dev, who all come together on the jam "Like A G6"...

English duo Ting Tings are another group with success on both sides of the Atlantic, with their ultra-cool "That's Not My Name" a number-one hit in the UK, and "Shut Up And Let Me Go" made it to the top of the American dance chart. Their latest is "Hands", and the retro-80's video can be seen (unembeddable) by clicking this link, but here's a clip of the audio...

Miranda Lambert is back with the latest hit from her third major-label CD Revolution, which produced her first number-1 country hit "The House That Built Me". Here's "Only Prettier"...

Glee's version of "Empire State Of Mind" drops out to make room for the top-selling song of the six released from its tribute to Brittany Spears. Here's the gang with "Toxic"..

Switchfoot, a Christian rock band from San Diego, had two top-20 pop hits with "Dare You To Move" and "Meant To Live" in the early Naughties. They now have two concurrent hits climbing my list, as modern-rock leaning "The Sound" is joined by the adult-pop hit "Your Love Is A Song".

Next up is Swedish-Congolese R&B/Hip-Hop artist Mohombi. He was born in Zaire, but since adolescence has been living in Stockholm, Sweden. His first hit has made the top ten in at least eight European countries including the Netherlands, where "Bumpy Ride" was a number-one hit...

Finally, we have another act from California, rock band Papa Roach, who have previously reached the top of the Alternative Rock chart with "Last Resort" ten years ago, and #1 mainstream rock with "Lifeline" last year. Their latest is "Kick In The Teeth"..

Gonna rock you like a rodeo!

This week there are eight debuts on my list (marked in yellow), and the first is by Tennessee's Followhills, known as the Kings Of Leon. After three much-buzzed about albums (and a following in England), the group found mega-success in the last two years with their breakthrough CD Only By The Night, which produced three #1's on Billboard's Alternative rock chart - "Sex On Fire", "Notion", and the song which turned out to be one of the biggest hits of any genre last year, "Use Somebody". They're back with a new CD that's coming out this coming Tuesday, Come Around Sundown, and the preview single for that makes their fourth top modern-rock song. Here's "Radioactive"...

Next is a legend of dance music.Donna Summer has scored fifteen #1 hits on Billboard's Dance chart, putting her at third all-time, while on the pop chart she made it to the top four times, with such diverse offerings as the theatrical "MacArthur Park", the ode-to-da-ho of "Bad Girls", the sexual yearning of "Hot Stuff", and the ultimate diva-off with Barbra Streisand, "No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)". Thirty-five years after her first hit "Love To Love You Baby", Summer is still going strong, and her new single heralding her (I assume) favorite city already in the top-5. Here's "To Paris With Love"...

The movie Kick-Ass was one of the rare sleeper movies out of the Marvel Comics adaptations. Having kids in a quite violently movie possibly didn't help it becoming the juggernaut the X-Men were, but at least it didn't pander to its audience. Six months since the movie opened in the US, the title song from the movie is making its way up the dance chart, with a collaboration by Beirut-by-way-of-London favorite of mine Mika (of the #1 UK hit "Grace Kelly"), and Moroccan-by-way-of-Sweden superproducer/writer RedOne (Nadir Khayat, who has produced tons of hits recently, most notably Lady GaGa). Here's "Kick-Ass"...

Carrie Underwood has now had three number one albums, as well as ten number-one country singles, as well as a pop #1 with "Inside Your Heaven". Wow. What a nice epitaph for the upcoming trainwreck that American Idol will be. Her latest hit is a beautiful song which I'm sure with become a Mother's Day standard. Here's "Mama's Song", and try not to cry watching this...

The former Mr. Halle Berry, Eric Benet, is best known for his #1 R&B hit (and top-40) "Spend My Life With You". His latest sounds a lot like old D'Angelo, and that's a good thing. Here is "Sometimes I Cry"...

Well I am happy as all getout that Glee is back on the air for a second season. The first episode has already sent a song into the top-10 selling singles in the US, and it's a remake of one of the biggest songs of the past year. Here's their take on "Empire State Of Mind"...

Next is sister act L2, who used to go by the name of the Labbadia Sisters, which I guess seems sort of wrong. I don't know why, just wrong. The New Yorkers' first hit is a top-10 dance single called "Boys Or Girls"...

Lastly, country singer Jason Aldean has had four country number-one hits in the last five years: "Why" (my personal favorite), "She's Country", "Big Green Tractor", and "The Truth". The fact that the last three were from his last album alone should say how fast he's breaking right now. His latest is the title track for his upcoming CD, My Kinda Party....

This week eight new songs come onto my list (marked in yellow), and the first in the new single by Barbadian superstar Rihanna. She's already in my top-25 backing up Eminem in what looks like a strong contender for Billboard's #1 pop single of this year, "Love The Way You Lie", and she's had five #1 lead-artist singles in the past four years - "SOS", "Umbrella", "Take A Bow", "Disturbia", and "Rude Boy". Her last album, Rated R, put four songs on my chart (including "Rude Boy"), and the preview track from her upcoming album Loud, is called "Only Girl (In The World").

Next up is Christina Perri who grew up right across the river from me in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. Her debut single "Jar of Hearts" has gotten major exposure through TV's So You Think You Can Dance.

The Black Keys are a blues-rock duo from Akron, Ohio, and besides a couple minor charting singles in the UK, the band has their first American single success with "Tighten Up"...

Justin Moore is placing his third song on my chart, including his Billboard Country #1 "Small Town USA". His latest is "How I Got To Be This Way"...

Taborah is a singer from Long Island, NY, who has already had a #5 Billboard Dance hit with "I Am (The Rising)". Her latest is "Say I Love You"...

X Factor winner Alexandra Burke is one of the most successful acts to emerge from that British series, having scored two previous UK #1 singles with "Hallelujah" and "Bad Boys" along with contributing to two other #1 hits, X Factor Finalists' "Hero" and Helping Haiti's "Everybody Hurts". Her latest is her third lead #1 in England, and it features reggae/rap artist Laza Morgan. Here's the clip for "Start Without You" featuring some hotties...

Italian DJ Alex Gaudino already has tasted fame with the #1 European (and top-10 UK) "Desination Calabria" with Crystal Waters, and now is back with "I'm In Love (I Wanna Do It)"

and lastly, a band that is now the epitomy of New Jersey. Bon Jovi's first single was released in 1983, and in the 80's churned out four number one hits with "You Give Love A Bad Name", "Livin' On A Prayer", "Bad Medicine", and "I'll Be There For You". After 27 years the group has amassed thirteen more top-40 hits and four #1 albums (including their last two, The Circle and Lost Highway). Not bad for a hair band, eh? This November a Greatest Hits collection is coming out, and one of the two new songs is "What Do You Got"...

Take care!
