Story of the day...victimization wins again...

So, let me get this straight. Some genius with a flipcam can stop 89-year-old Helen Thomas, an Arab-American, and ask what she thinks about Israel. This is after an aid boat was raided in international waters and 9 people killed, though of course for effect that was left out. With a lens basically on top of her face, this is what she said.

Now beyond what looks like a deliberite edit, the thought of sending Israeli Jews to Germany and Poland is of course an indefensible slam on the exile from the Holocaust, but of course considering the horrible history of the treatment of Palestinians (who, mind you, had nothing to do with said Holocaust), someone who has seen the plight people in her area (her parents are Lebanese immigrants, though of the Catholic sect) and I can honestly see the emotional response from her. But of course, since she's #1) a woman, and #2) a persistent reporter who asks tough questions, the guvmint/media fuckfest finally get their chance to have her head. After issuing an apology, Thomas was basically forced out, while pussy-queen Craig Crawford had to act sufficiently appalled to drop her from his collaborative book. Meanwhile, Crawford has no problem sucking Pat Buchanan off at every oppurtunity, who has said and broadcasted tons of deliberate more hateful and anti-Semitic things with forethought then I'm sure Ms. Thomas had ever privately expressed. Ari Fleischer is apparently continuously masturbating over the headhunt, where that self-righteous weasel should be in jail for complications in the Iraq war lies/Valerie Plame ordeal, and Robert Gibbs is pissing himself with glee that he can spew some vitriol that God forbid he direct at BP. All during the same weekend the rest of the "reporters" in the hive are having a BBQ at Biden's house. The same ones who had no problem with Ann Coulter calling her an "Old Arab" or deceased fucktard Tony Snow saying she's a Hezbollah conspirator. (Oh, you can just blame that on the cansuh)

All this points to the Republican establishment playbook which optimizes the use of victimization and outrage as a tactic to remove their adversaries (and competitors). It's a shame that members of the administration (I'm looking at you, Rahm and Gibbs) are co-opting it to their own means.

As for myself, I honor Ms. Thomas for all her dedicated work in journalism. I know you regret your choice of words, and hope you find a voice again.
