twostepcub's music chart for October 2, 2009...

Hey everyone, and sorry for being away for a week. It's been pretty nuts, but hopefully after a couple things this week I'll be back in the groove. In the meantime, it's time for my tunes for the week. This week Kings Of Leon spend a seventh week at the top, while German dance act Cascada (pictured above) jump into the top-5. Former big hits by Jack Ingram, Parachute, and Pussycat Dolls drop out, while songs by Mariah Carey, Kelly Clarkson, and the Zac Brown Band make the biggest jumps. Link-O-Rama is in effect, so you can click on the highlighted name of any of the artists below to go to their website for more info on them. Slip slidin' away...

This week ten new songs debut, and the highest is by Nicki Richards. The Hawaiian dance singer has her second song on my chart with "Why You Wanna Hurt Me So Bad"...

Next is geek-rock legends Weezer, with the first track from their upcoming album chock full of nonsequitors. Here's (If You're Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To....

And on the opposite end of that spectrum is Miley (IT'S MILEY!) Cyrus with a song so catchy it makes me almost want to jab pencils in my ears for liking it. Behold "Party In The USA"...

I think one of my favorite pop albums of the last three years was Mika's Life In Cartoon Motion, and his new set The Boy Who Knew Too Much is up to the same caliber. The first single from that is the uplifting "We Are Golden"...

Ingrid Michaelson delivers another great adult pop track about the complexities of love with "Maybe"...

It's been a Rihanna-drought over the past weeks, but the rain has come courtesy of Jay-Z, who employs her and award-interrupting Kanye West to "Run This Town"...

Pitbull is still in the top-30 with "I Know You Want Me", but can't wait to be back for a little "Hotel Room Service"...

Next up is Pixie Lott from England, with the followup to "Mama Do", which also made it to #1 in the UK. It's "The Boys & The Girls"...

Illinois-based band Chevelle puts their seventh song into the Alternative Rock top-10, and it also makes my list. It's called "Jars"...

and finally, country singer Craig Morgan re-released his album That's Why with a couple different songs, and one is making waves now. It's called "Bonfire"...

Hot fudge, please!
