twostepcub's music chart for September 11, 2009...

Hey guys, it's time for my tunes for the week. This week Kings of Leon spend a fourth non-consecutive week on top, while former tweener turned club siren Kaci Battaglia (pictured above) makes it into the top-10. Former big hits by Coldplay, Beyonce, and U2 drop off the chart, while current hits by Muse, Rise Against, and BT make the biggest moves. Link-O-Rama is still in effect, so you can click on the highlighted name of any of the 100 artists to go to their website (right-click and you can use a different window or tab). Let's get shakin'....

This week seven new songs enter my list, as well as there is a re-entry. The highest debut is by Canadian DJ Tiga, who has a novelty slash tribal club hit with "Shoes". His greatest success so far has been a remake of Corey Hart's "Sunglasses At Night" which made the British top-40, and two top-30 dance hits, "You Gonna Want Me" and a remake of "Hot In Herre"...

Next up is Marit Larsen, who was a member of the tween duo M2M back in the turn of the century. Norweigans Marit and her partner Marion Raven had a top-40 hit with "Don't Say You Love Me" from the Pokemon movie, and while Raven has gone on to record with Meat Loaf, Larsen has made #1 in Norway, Germany, and Austria with the pretty "If A Song Could Get Me You", which is my "pick" for the week...

Jill Jones was a former protege of Prince, and has sang backup for him and Teena Marie. That's R&B cred. Jones now comes on with a dance number that's on Jody Watley's Peace Bisquit label. Here's a perfect song to start off Friday night, "Living For The Weekend"...

The Zac Brown band's third single debuts, and I'm grateful that the line "toes in the water, ass in the sand" has found a home on the stodgy confines of country radio. Here's the Atlanta-grown group's "Toes"...

And as far for the scruffy band above, the Jonas Brothers surprisingly enter by way of a club remix of their single "Paranoid"..now here's the original clip...

...and here's the club mix of it..fun fact - the song was co-written by 90's dance singer Cathy Dennis...

Neo-soul star Maxwell is still climbing my chart with "Pretty Wings", but that doesn't stop him from debuting with his new fresh single "Bad Habits"..

And finally, French dance artist David Guetta follows up his #1 2SC hit "When Love Takes Over" with a dirtier track featuring Akon. It's made #1 in the UK, as "Sexy Chick", but here in the states, it's "Sexy Bitch"...

and now for an added bonus, the song that re-enters, English band the Noisettes, with the club remix of "Don't Upset The Rhythm (Go Baby Go)"...

Vaya Con Dios!
