story of the day....who says there's no special treatment?

So let me get this straight. First, we find out that four years ago, NJ gubernatorial candidate Chris "Krispy Kreme" Christie was cited for speeding in an unlicensed, uninsured car. That alone is fucking nuts for someone who is supposed to be a law professional. By the way he just happened to have his family and that staffer he lent an unreported $46,000 to.

Lambertville police director Bruce Coccuzza told the radio station that Christie's position as a U.S. attorney was discussed: "He identified himself." Christie's campaign says the candidate does not recall how it came up...

Normally, it is a strict policy in New Jersey to tow an unregistered car -- and in fact, a tow truck did arrive at the scene, according to the campaign. However, Christie was ultimately allowed to drive home. Coccuzza told the radio station: "From what I recollect I think she (the officer) even said at the time, 'If wasn't for the fact that you had a car full of children this car would be towed.'"

The tickets were marked "NO DEAL," which is traditionally used by police when they feel a driver behaved badly, and that the judge should not go easy in the case. Christie eventually paid a $250 fine, and the registration ticket was dismissed after he produced proper documentation -- though again, Christie's campaign has conceded that the car's registration was expired at the time.

Class act, eh? Well, that apparently was the tip of the iceberg. In 2002, three years before that, Christie hit a motorcycle as he sped into a one-way street in Elizabeth. He wasn't even ticketed, as apparently the blue cosa nostra up there shut up after he flashed his U.S. Attorney cred.

Elizabeth Police Director James Cosgrove confirmed to the paper that Christie did identify himself as the U.S. Attorney. The Star-Ledger asked whether Christie's position factored into the officer's decision to not ticket him: "I don't think I want to make that kind of deduction, but I think the facts speak for themselves."
Nice. Try having that treatment if you tried to get away with the same thing.

State motor vehicle documents show that since 1985, Christie, 46, has racked up 25 violation points (not all at one time), has been in six accidents and was cited 13 times for moving violations, including five without points.

So whenever someone goes off about what type of crook shyster Corzine is, remember that he's the one with $1 a year salary, and paid his own medical bills after his car accident that he wasn't even driving in, and compare that to the Republican slush fund swelling around Christie's fat cankles. Crimestopper, my ass.
