twostepcub's music chart for July 24, 2009...

Hey guys, it's one week to crunch time, and I'm taking a little break to put my tunes for the week. This week David Guetta and Kelly Rowland make it to the top, while Katy Perry (pictured above) jumps into the top-5. Kaci Battaglia, Green Day, and Colbie Caillat have the biggest jumps, while former big hits by AR Rahman, Green Day, Rihanna, Depeche Mode, Akon, and Kim Sozzi drop out. Link O Rama is still in full effect, so you can click on the highlighted name of any artist to go to their website. Mike f-ng Tyson reincarnated as a dog?!?!?! WTF?

This week there are seven new songs on my chart, as well as two re-entries by the late Michael Jackson which tugged on my nostalgia nerve. Fittingly, the highest debut is a remade track from the 80's group Simply Red. Mick Hucknall and the band are on their farewell tour after 25 years, where they scored 34 top-40 hits in the UK. In the US, it's only been five times in the top-40 , including the original of this track, "Money's Too Tight To Mention 2009"...

Next up is a singer from Ohio, Kate Voegele. Kate first had success with the song "Only Fooling Myself" from the TV show One Tree Hill. Her latest is "99 Times"..

The Manchester Orchestra isn't a classical group from Britain, but rather an indie-rock band from Atlanta, Georgia, who debut with "I've Got Friends"..

German dance group Cascada come on with their recent UK #1 hit "Evacuate The Dancefloor"..

Singer/songwriter Keri Hilson pairs up with rapper and sometimes megalomaniac Kanye West for "Knock You Down"..

Dance singer Jessica Jarrell prepares for the apocalypse at the club with "Armageddon"...

And finally we have Jessie James - not the gunslinger but the 21 year old female pop singer who's on tour with the Jonas Brothers. Here's her debut, "Wanted"...

and to cap it all off is a little Jackson with "Man In The Mirror"...
