twostepcub's music chart for June 19, 2009

Hey guys, it's time for my tunes for the week. This week Theory Of A Deadman spend a third week on top, while country act Lady Antebellum (pictured above) hangs on tight in the top-10. The biggest moves are made by Katy Perry, Daughtry, and David Guetta, while former big hits by the Plain White T's, Natasha Bedingfield, and Carrie Underwood drop off. Link-O-Rama is still in effect, so you can link from here to any of the artists below by clicking on their highlighted name. It's a great way to get to know more about what they're about, and it's worth the time it takes to put the links in. Now as for the rain, am I in friggin' Seattle?

This week is a quiet week, with only four new songs on my chart (with French faves "Ca M'enerve" and "Meme Pas Fatigue" reappearing), but with a couple of real good sleepers in there. The highest debut, though, goes to Coldplay, who mine their Viva La Vida expanded album's Prospektor's March EP to put their fifth straight single to make my chart. It expounds on the opening instrumental from the original album. Here's "Life In Technicolor II", which presents a puppet show from hell...

Next is the country band Gloriana, with their first single "Wild At Heart". Member Cheyenne Kimball had previously released a solo tween-pop album, reaching the top-20 album chart and having a minor hit single with "Hanging On". She also won the 2002 talent show America's Most Talented Kid. The new group sounds a lot like vocal groups like Little Big Town and Lady Antebellum, and that's a good thing. Here's "Wild At Heart"..

Far from being a new country band by now, Rascal Flatts put the second single from their sixth album, Unstoppable, on my chart. Here's the followup to "Here Comes Goodbye", and a 360 degree turn in attitude, "Summer Nights"...

And finally, though it's the lowest debut, it's so far my fave for sleeper of the week. It's by Europop singer Agnes (last name Carlsson), who won the Swedish version of Pop Idol in 2005. Her latest album, Dance Love Pop, is worth ordering on import, and this single has crossed into the UK so far, making their top-10. Can the US be far behind, with a great song and a powerful voice not unlike Mariah and Leona? Here's "Release Me"...

Now the question is, who really will stop the rain?
