twostepcub's music chart for April 3, 2009...

Hey everyone, I'm back after a couple days off here, and it's time for my tunes for the week. This week Kelly Clarkson jumps into the top spot, while California band Incubus (pictured above) hang on in the top-10. Former big hits by Missy Higgins, Kevin Rudolf, Beyonce, and the Ting Tings drop out, while the biggest moves are made by the Veronicas, Jimmy D. Robinson, and Chris Lake. Link-O-Rama is still in effect, so you can click on the highlighted name of any artist to go to their website. Where should those tulips go?

This week there are nine new songs debuting, beginning with British singer Leona Lewis. While the outstanding "Run" was a smash across Europe, the US record company decided to go with "I Will Be" as her followup to "Forgive Me". Here's her very powerful video...

Next up is gospel duo Mary Mary, who have had a lot of crossover success in the dance clubs. "God In Me" followed "Get Up" from their latest album to the top of Billboard's Dance Club Play chart. Here's the Dave Aude Club Mix...

Also in the dance world, Kristine W. had her 12th Billboard dance #1 with "Never", which made my top-30. Her latest looks to repeat that feat. Here's "Love Is The Look"..

Love Is The Look (Ralphi Rosario Club Mix) - Kristine W

Rock band O.A.R., or Of A Revolution, recently made the runner-up spot on my chart with "Shattered (Turn The Car Around)", which is still hanging around. Their latest is "This Town", which NASCAR is using in their ads...

There's a "Love Story" debuting in my chart, but this isn't Taylor Swift (she's already at #13). It's Nadia Ali, who is a Pakistani-American born in Libya, who follows up her TSC chart hit "Crash And Burn". She also was the voice behind iio, the guys who did "Rapture (Tastes So Sweet)"...

The next singer is Alesha Dixon, who was formerly in the British girl-soul group Mis-Teeq, who hit the top-40 in America with "Scandalous", but made the top-10 in Britain seven times. Her current hit is a trans-Europe smash, and deserves to be a hit in the US as well. Here's "The Boy Does Nothing"....

The next debut is the first for singer-songwriter Erin McCarley. She's a big success on I-Tunes, and adult-top 40 is gettin' in the act. Here's "Love, Save The Empty"...

I had the pleasure to catch AmberRose Marie at the GLBT expo in New York a couple weeks ago. She rocked. Here's her new hit "Wanna Be A DJ" live from Miami...

And finally, country duo Montgomery Gentry sneak on with "One In Every Crowd", in their usual party vibe...

Toodles!
