twostepcub's music chart for April 17, 2009...

Hey guys, it's a beautiful morning so far, and before I get to outside stuff, it's time for my tunes for the week. This week Lady GaGa puts her second song this year at #1, while Pink (pictured above) moves within the top-5. Former big hits by Keith Urban, Kanye West, Jason Mraz, Leann Rimes, and Mariah Carey drop out, while tunes by Solange, Anberlin, and T.I. make the biggest moves. As usual, Link-O-Rama is in full effect, so you can click on the highlighted name of any artist to go to their website, or rightclick to bring it up in another tab or window. Grilltime!

This week there's ten new songs that debut on my chart this week. The highest is by tween sensation Miley Cyrus, whose Hannah Montana - The Movie soundtrack was one of my nieces Easter presents. Ahh, kids. Actually, her new song is more mature and quite nice. Here's "The Climb"...

Uber-manly rock band Nickelback follow up their #1 "Gotta Be Somebody" with the predictable (but still good) power-ballad "If Today Was Your Last Day"...

Country singer and perpetually "nice" guy Brad Paisley previews his forthcoming album with the sweet ballad "Then"...

Singer Anjulie may be on a predominantly "jazzy" label Concord Records, but her new song "Boom" is getting played mostly in the dance clubs..

Next up is the British band Noisettes, whose lead singer Shingai Shoniwa is of Zimbabwean heritage, have a Distant Shores Song/twostepcubchart crossover with "Don't Upset The Rhythm (Go Baby Go)"..

Country singer Dierks Bentley has a winning singles streak so far, and continues with his latest, "Sideways", which follows his recent top-20 "Feel That Fire"..

Another of my Distant Shores Songs also debuts, and it's "Ayo Technology", the remake of the 50 Cent/Justin Timberlake collaboration done acoustically by Belgian singer Milow...

Neo-Soul singer Musiq Soulchild just debuted last week joining with India.Arie on "Chocolate High", but still find a way to come on again this week solo with "sobeautiful"...

Next, DJ Rod Carrillo pairs up with "Bodega Charlie" with the club track "Oye Party"...

and finally dance act Deadmau5 arrive with a trippy experiment in electronica, "Faxing Berlin"...

Steaks on the barbie!
