This week eight new songs come on the chart, starting with my favorite "girl", Kylie Minogue, with "All I See". It's the sole exclusive US track to her latest album, X, and it's not an immediate winner, though it does get better with time, and the video's way cool...

Next up, R&B singer Tamia is back with a new club anthem in the Deborah Cox vein, "Me"...

You got to give it up a little for Modern Rock radio for taking a chance on an eight-minute song. Here's Death Cab For Cutie with the dreamy "I Will Possess Your Heart"...

British singer/rapper Estelle gets discofied with Kanye West with the awesome new single "American Boy"....

Rock band The Spill Canvas hails from South Dakota, and debuts with "All Over You"...

Modern rock gods Weezer are back with the college-rock-themed "Pork And Beans"...

Country singer Tim McGraw's fifth single from his latest album Let It Go is a straight-ahead country song which name-checks, here's "Kristofferson"...

And finally, a great name for a band, here's the quirky Flobots with "Handlebars"...

Twostepcub's music chart for May 9, 2008...

Hey everyone! Sorry I've been scarce but I just got done helping put on our first rodeo in Philadelphia. Woohoo! I'll write more about it in a little bit after I decompress, but in the meantime, since I missed a week and am terribly late this time round, I'm gonna put out by rodeo-style tunes for the week of the rodeo. Last week Leona Lewis grabbed the top spot, and now stays on for a second week. Colbie Caillat's (pictured above) former #1 "Bubbly" drops out, but new single "Realize" moves within the top-10. Carrie Underwood, Madonna, and Michael Jackson make the biggest jumps, while Sarah Atereth, Britney Spears, Alan Jackson, Foo Fighters, Bob Sinclar drop out. I couldn't have done it without your help, SB, my little chemistry lab...

100. She's A Hottie - Toby Keith (DEBUT)

This week there are nine new songs in the countdown, starting with two certified messes debuting the highest. First, Britney Spears follows up the addictive "Piece Of Me" with the earworm of "Break The Ice". Now she's resorted to being animated in her videos...

Next up, American Idol's deadweight, Randy Jackson, and lunatic, Paula Abdul, gleen from the camp factor of tragedy to "Dance Like There's No Tomorrow" (now I think about it, isn't this the same song as "Break The Ice"?)....

Now on the other end of the spectrum, squeaky-clean Brit Natasha Bedingfield follows "Love Like This" with "Pocketful Of Sunshine"...

Jack White's back with side-project the Raconteurs with "Salute Your Solution"...

Quirky singer/songwriter Jason Mraz is back with "I'm Yours"...

Now, I'm still shakin' my head as to how Vanessa Carlton got with The Inc. records, but her sound stays true with the "Apologize"-recalling "Hands On Me"...

Ashton Shepherd has a good, powerful voice not unlike Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles. Here she is with the first song on my countdown, the kiss-off "Takin' Off This Pain"...

Twisted Dee, the female DJ from Long Island, entered the chart all on her own with "Drop That Beat"...

And finally, Toby Keith goes the generic rock-hillbilly rap-whatever with "She's A Hottie"...

Four songs came on last week: Josh Turner shows Toby the REAL meaning of country with "Another Try", my pick for the week (before)...

Wacko Jacko's Thriller got re-released, and the remix of "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'" with Akon ain't bad at all...

Blake Shelton ably remakes Michael Buble's "Home" for the country folk....

and finally Kenny Chesney returns with "Better As A Memory"...

Now, back to bed..
