Twostepcub's music chart for December 12, 2008...

Hey guys, I think at least with my chart I'm back on track. This week Nickelback takes over the top spot (pictured above). And a whopping fifteen new songs debut and another one re-enters the list - talk about some house-cleaning! Former big hits by Metallica, Seether, Staind, Cyndi Lauper, Bimbo Jones, AnnaGrace, Kid Rock, 3 Doors Down, and Natasha Bedingfield drop off, and Beyonce, Brandy, and Sylvia Tosun make some of the biggest jumps (big jumps in red). Link-O-Rama is still on full effect - so you can click on any artist's name to go to their website (right click, and you can do it in a new window). Hope everyone is enjoying the season if they are...this weekend it's tree-huntin' season!

Wow. Sixteen songs come on to the list. Actually to be truthful, when I compile my list, there's about 15-20 more songs that just about made the list every week. I listen to that much stuff. Jeez. No wonder I have no time for anything...

First off, Keith Urban is already on the chart in a duet with Brad Paisley ("Start A Band"), but the new single from his new album coming out early next year is already out, and it's in the cookie cutter feel-good style of his first-single releases from all his other albums - though he does have the talent to pull it off. Here's Sweet Thing....

Beyonce debuted last week with her latest, and younger sister Solange follows suit with the percolating dance track "Sandcastle Disco"...

The first single from the Pussycat Dolls' sophomore effort, "When I Grow Up", was a mess that I only liked in the tribal mask of a club remix...Nicole et al redeem themselves (face it, it's really only her) with "I Hate This Part"...

Kanye West dives from his Daft Punk sampling to pure electronica with the cool experimental minimalism of "Love Lockdown"...

Dance superstar Ultra Nate is back with another song from her awesome 2001 album "Stranger Than Fiction"...here's "Twisted (Got Me Goin' Round)"...

American rock band Incubus mines their lastest album for another radio fave, here's "Love Hurts"...

If you go to AC/DC's website, you can watch a clip of a video for their latest single, "Rock N Roll Train", done in Excel. How nerdily awesome is that! Here's the regular video.

Seether's third single from their latest CD is "Breakdown". It fits their gloomy, post - Amy Lee - buzz...

Rock band Hinder had one of the more execrable singles of the decade with "Lips Of An Angel", and again they mine the faux-ballsy pussy-rock, but to better effect here, with "Without You"...

Australian Missy Higgins re-enters the chart with the plaintive "Where I Stood". Very pretty.

Coldplay almost debuted with two songs this week (Lost is moving up there) but "Lovers In Japan" makes in on first...

Robin Thicke is still moving up the chart with "Magic (Touch)", thanks to the remix featuring Mary J. Blige, but that doesn't stop him from debuting with the new single "The Sweetest Love"...

Dance singer Brian Anthony debuts with his first single on here, "Worked Up"...

The always-fun B-52's place their second single from album Funplex with "Juliet Of The Spirits"...

Kenny Chesney's last single, "Everybody Wants To Go To Heaven", drops off this week, to be replaced by his new single, "Down The Road", with songwriter and 80's AC singer Mac McAnally..

Finally, Toby Keith takes a break from singing on the Stephen Colbert Christmas special to sneak onto the chart with his latest, "God Love Her"..

Now where's my saw?
