Twostepcub's music chart for October 17, 2008...

Hey everyone, it's time for my tunes for the week. This week Rihanna spends a second week on top, while Estelle (pictured above) makes it to the top-5. Former big hits by Sara Bareilles, Rihanna, and OneRepublic drop out of the chart, while Robin Thicke, Morgan Page, and Metallica make the biggest jumps. Link-O-Rama is still in effect, so you can click on the name of any artist to go to their website (right click to bring it up in another tab or window). Welcome Autumn!

This week there are ten new songs, starting with country band Sugarland, with the third single from their album, Love On The Inside, following "All I Want To Do" and "Life In A Northern Town", it's a beautiful waltz. Here's "Already Gone"...

Next up, another big country group more in the Eagles' pop-country vein, Rascal Flatts, mine their Still Feels Good album for its fifth single to make my playlist, it's much more in line with traditional country radio than their last effort, "Bob That Head". Here's "Here"...

French DJ Bob Sinclar revamps "What I Want" by reggaeton performer Fireball to be the third single from his Soundz of Freedom album to show up on my list, after the title track and "Together"...

Gavin DeGraw's self-titled album, his second major-label release, popped in the US top 10 album charts earlier this year, and the first single from that, "In Love With A Girl", had a respectable run on my chart earlier this year. The followup, "Cheated On Me", returns him to my list...

Now comes the surprise of the week. Charo. Yes, Charo. The Spanish flamenco guitarist of the late-60's and 70's was one of the first "TV celebrities" that I could remember, meaning those who were famous, but you really don't remember why. I certainly don't remember as a kid knowing she was an accomplished guitarist, but there ya go. Universal Wave records have released mixes of Charo's "Espana Cani" which have done well in the dance clubs. I even bought the single on I-Tunes...Here's the Twisted Dee Brazilian remix of "Espana Cani"...

Canadian rock band Theory Of A Deadman, from British Columbia, was signed by Nickelback's Chad Kroeger. Their third album, Scars And Souvenirs, has the cool new single "Bad Girlfriend", which I'm sure is playing in a slew of stripper bars right now...

Mississippi-born country singer Randy Houser co-wrote Trace Adkins' smash "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk", which made #1 on my list back in 2005 (before I had this blog, even). His first album arrives next month, and the first single, "Anything Goes", debuts here..

Danny Tenaglia was one of the premier DJ's of the nineties, and his mixes of other artists'songs were a mainstay of club life. He even topped the Billboard Dance charts with "Elements". His newest song, "The Space Dance", doesn't stray far from those tribal throwdowns...

As far from the New York clubs as you can come, the Zac Brown Band brings a little "Chicken Fried" to my chart...

And finally, the second Canadian-bred song from Crystal Shawanda of Ontario sneaks on to the top-100 with her first single, the inspirational "You Can Let Go". This is from her album Dawn Of A New Day, which according to her record label is the highest charting album by a full-blooded Native American in the soundscan era (since at least 1991, that is). She was profiled by CMT in a biographical series detailing her trip to the big-leagues.
