Countdown to Super Tuesday....

As I finally get my dinner for tomorrow into the crock pot, just wanted to rant about the decision I and a lot of others have tomorrow in the "Super Tuesday" round of primaries/caucuses. From the little I know, with the amount of delegates proportioned out by district as well as the "superdelegates" that go to convention from their standing in the party, most likely the Democratic race and possibly the Republican race will not be decided tomorrow. On the Democratic side, whittled down to just two choices, Obama and Clinton. I am very disappointed John Edwards dropped out, as he was most likely to have received my vote, but I can understand his actions considering the media shutout of him to a spoiler status. The two remaining candidates did glean some from his message, but I only felt that he took it farther than just a "talking point". While I'd be content with either Barack or Hillary, I'm surprised that in this time where the Democratic party should be its strongest, that these two are the best that can come forward. While Obama is a powerful speechgiver, it seems his campaign is running more on branding and charisma than substantive issues, which he did show a glimmer of in the last debate. Fatal flaw? The total fuckup of enlisting uber-dickhead self-proclaimed "ex-gay" Donnie McClurkin to use one of Obama's big rallies as a homophobic pulpit. You want to convince me you want to bring people together while using this recloseted nimrod as your mouthpiece? Hillary's nominally more experienced, given less credit than she's due based on the relation to her husband, and is being scapegoated rather effectively on cornered voting on the leadup to the Iraq war as well as the recent Iran vote. She has attempted to hone the "stiffness" didactic factor, though at times she seems "overfamiliar" . Fatal flaw? The sometimes appearance of "going with the borg" mentality and overanalyzing and overtesting every position (although that still would be 10x better than Bush's fucking "gut feeling" shit). Also the scary proposition that for some retarded people out there (and I know some personally) they would rather vote for a baby-eater than Hillary.

However either one of them are miles above the current genetic cesspool of Republican candidates. Between Mitt Romney, which is Bush Redux with less Jesus and more Osmond; John McCain who has his goiter in a bunch about going to war in any way possible that doesn't involve him in a cage, and deserves to perpetually have his dick shoved up Joe Lieberman's ass at all times; Mike Huckabee, who brings that down-home bigotry not seen since the Cracker Barrel got sued; and Ron Paul, the crazy uncle McCain was pretending he was until he remembered he had to suck the Bushie dick again. Any one of them on a good day would require thorazine. The fact that there can be any support for any one of those clowns is proof that possibly evolution is selective. And any one voting for one of those asshats deserves to have his or her paycheck used to pay for this Waterloo of a war these fucktards got us into, and maybe a weeks forced vacation to Baghdad.

ciao.
