Warm Wishes for a Happy 2007!

Well I'm back. Sorry for the little lapse, with Christmas, New Years, rodeo stuff, my niece's birthday, and my Three Kings party coming up, I've been runnin' myself ragged. But a new year brings my mind back to the blog, so here I go. So much craziness happened in 2006, but so much to be thankful for....

...The Democratic Party winning the House and Senate (and please get better, Sen. Johnson)
...New Jersey passing Civil union legislation (I know, a glass half full/empty thing but still)
...Success for gay-friendly entertainment like Brokeback Mountain, Transamerica, the Logo Channel, musicians like the Pet Shop Boys and Scissor Sisters with awesome albums
...on a personal level, a great job transfer (woohoo!)

Hopefully 2007 will bring better and brighter to us all, and more peace to the world. Amen.

But to end, a sad goodbye to an icon (good or bad role model, he defined soul music) James Brown. It's strange to say he's gone. Here's a forgotten nugget I bought for 20$ last year on vinyl 45 (damn they better put the album on CD already!), The World.

To hear that track, click here to download James Brown's "The World" (right click to bring up in another window)
